Here is the scoop. This weekend I went to change my daughters diaper and when I went to lift her bottom up she winced and cried. I had a hold of her legs as I have always done since she was born. I had the daycare do some exercises with her to see if she would wince or cry when not on the change table (she was doing this wincing at daycare as well) when they took her legs and raised them to her head she resisted and let out a cry like she was in pain. Please does anyone or has anyone ever experienced anything like this. I called my daughters pediatrician and of course gotta love those summer hours!!! They are closed till tomorrow just my luck!

Are you sure it is a back pain? May be it can be a stomach pain as well, which gets more when you are raising her legs and the area gets pressed. So, try gently pressing all sides of her stomach and confirm it is not.

I would take her to the ER. It might not be back pain, it could actually be pressure on her neck when you lift her legs like that, which could mean meningitis. Hopefully that's not the case, and it's just a pulled muscle or constipation. I wouldn't wait until tomorrow though, only b/c it's not a "typical" toddler complaint. If need be, the ER will do blood tests and x-rays. At the Ped, you'd have to schedule those things. GOOD LUCK. I hope it's nothing serious.
