I don't really think many people use the nickname Dick anymore when naming their child Richard. However, I know many people named Dick and don't really think of the slang term. Maybe I am mature enough to overlook things like that!!!!!

I don't hear any new babies being named "Dick". It is an old-fashioned name. The slang name, only came out in the 80's.
