I'd like to make french toast in bulk and then freeze it for later reheating. I need tips on:

1 - The best and most economical method for storing it in the freezer so that i can use individual slices later, and

2 - The simplest method for reheating it. Microwave? Oven? Toaster oven? (I don't have a toaster).

Note - this is for my toddler, so it doesn't have to be great quality. I am just using the standard french toast recipe: soak bread in egg with a little milk, and brown on a griddle with a little butter.

We do this all the time. Pancakes and homemade waffles seem to keep much better in the freezer though. I make the standard french toast (I also add a tsp. or so of vanilla extract and some cinnamon). I then stack them unevenly (like stairsteps) and freeze in freezer bags. Stacking them like stairsteps makes it easier to just take one slice at a time. I heat them in the microwave 20 seconds on each side. Cut and serve with syrup. I also make lots of sausage and bacon and freeze in freezer bags and reheat in the micro. This way, your house only has to smell like a smoke house once every couple months. Good luck.

French toast freezes well, and only needs about a minute or so in the microwave.

I would just freeze a few pieces of french toast in a small freezer bag. Open the bag and stick it in the microwave for a minute. Nothing could be easier.

You can also do this with pancakes.

If you're going to freeze, you should use plastic wrap to keep the bread from sticking together. Re-heating in a microwave will probably give you soggy mush. I'd vote for the toaster. French toast should have a firm outside with a custard soaked soft inside.

I dont like pancakes both! They are soo smooth and a bit of bit too candy for me. But I love waffles and French toast. Mine generally is going on this order a million. Waffles two. French toast three. Pancakes
