Make sure, when you teach your kids to do these things, that you also teach them to be little demons with the demon kids.
Usually you don't have to teach them too much on that score, just let them know that empathy can't be wasted on barbarians.

Yes they are, but that is no excuse for bad manners. I also had to learn that I was a role model, so the £$£^%$&^& who pulled out in front of me had to become "That silly man"!!

I don't know about other kids, but mine has been taught good manners so far. She can say please and thank you, and has just begun knowing exactly when to use them on her own.
