It is good that she wants to run on a track. Maybe she has the flame of an atheletic. Do try to find some proffesional or a school sports teacher who can help her out in training her.
If you want to take her by yourself make sure you have an eye on her when she is running. 4 year olds tend to be overenthusiastic, so let her run for some time like 20-30min and then ask her to stop. Take some glucose and water and ask her to drink it after she has finished running.

Let her run the track. She will do one of 2 things:
1- She'll realize that the track is too big for her to go all the way around, and will end up trying to "tightrope-walk" the lines or something.
2- She'll have a great time, and you'll end up getting dragged around a few times with her.
Either way, it's a winning adventure. Just make sure she (and you) have the right shoes, and bring along some liquids and a light snack. And make sure that there aren't any students on it when you go (if it is a school track). Call the school and find out if the football/cross country/ soccer teams will be on it, and what their schedules are.

You never know, you might have the next All Star! Never heard of too much running for a child unless you were forcing her to run the track. If your uncomfortable, make sure she doesn't get out of breath or turn red. Let her burn off her energy. It's a positive way! Make sure you have fluid like Gatorade to replenish any loss of fluid.

It is wonderfull that your duaghter is intersted in exercise. It will hopefully lead to a habit of running, when she gets older. A race track would be too intense for your four year old, you should let her run around a park, or a backyard.

no she is fine. let her run actually it is a good thing. Just put a limit of a hour to running. If she continuosly runs limit it to 30 min. but if she takes periodic breaks and sits for a little a hr is fine

Let her run. But make sure she has plenty of fluids. Not only will she be getting to have her kind of "fun", she is getting exercise and a bonus, she will be extremely tired so nap or bed time should be easy.

Make sure she has plenty of fluids, and decent sneakers (not outrageously expensive, but not bargain-bin). Let her run. She'll stop when she's had enough.
