Does anyone have any experience with the processing times of the I-485 adjustment of status form. Mine's been in well over 4 years now, and I'm still not 'adjusted'

Thanks

I have been told that they were waiting on the FBI... that was around 3 years ago. What now?

in Houston,Texas about six months, Any case taking so long needs to be acted on, that is to say : make monthly inquires, contact your congressman, complain to the District or Service Director, keep notes on dates, times and names of officials communicated with. But if your case is on the National Security Check list, your S.O.L. The Immigration service issues a statement stating " If your case has is under a National Security Check, your case has been forwarded to unnamed Authorities in Washington, D.C. and the Immigration Service has no control over how long the security clearance can take, further states it can take several months up to several years." So the agency responsible for your immigration status gets to a point where they have no control over your case, uummm?

You could be stuck in the FBI background check. Call your US congressman's office. They have someone that will help you find out what is going on.
