how long does it take muscle to turn into fat? i havent been working out for about a month, and havent been following a diet of any kind. before i stopped working out, i was working out atleast 5 days a week with a great workout routine and had gained a lot of muscle. Can all that muscle i had built up turn into fat over 1 month? if not, how long does it take. I'm going to start working out again and following my diet as soon as i get over this cold, hopefully tomorrow or thursday. i havent gained weight but i feel like my muscle turned into fat.

talking from personal experience, you can't lose your muscle in one month. it goes away slowly. and if that's not good enough news for you, here's another: muscle has "memory!" meaning, if you take a break from your work out routine and then start again, it takes less time for your muscle to grow than it took the first time around. How cool is that?
happy workouts and I hope you feel better soon!

muscle does not turn into fat.

The fat gets burnt and the muscles get built. There is a lot of genetics involved, but most people can burn 1 lb of fat every two days and gain 1 pound o muscle in two weeks if you work out and eat properly.

Muscle does not turn into fat. When you stop burning the extra calories, your body will store what you eat as fat. Muscle that is not used over a long period of time will atrophy (get smaller) and perhaps feel less firm, but does not change into anything other than muscle.

muscle can't turn into fat. fat can't turn into muscle. the thing that will happen is that you will start gaining more fat and your muscle strength will little by little start to go away. in words you can understand, your muscles get weaker and fat percentage get higher. so get off your couch and get moving. your muscle hasn't turned to fat. you are just gaining more fat. and excercise will make you feel better with this cold you have.
