Who is the most influencial person in 2006?

Or some one influencial in general. Or some one that is worth writing an [persuasive] essay about. Like, on how they affected people, either in a postitive or negative manner. An example could be, Bill Gates. But I'm looking for a more original person. If you ever heard of Sesshomaru from, InuYasha, the anime. That could help. =] With the person, please start four reasons why you picked the person/group.

I would have to say it would be freelance journalist Jill Carroll. My reasons:

1. She showed her courage covering the war, was kidnapped & released, but never badmouthed her captors.
2. She helped bring more national attention to the war in Iraq.
3. It makes you appreciate what the members of the press have to go through or risk, to give us our informed freedom of the press.
4. She shows strength in that she will continue in her work, becoming a role model for many.

He and his minions influence the way we travel. As well as the politics of the majority of the Muslim world. His actions have determined how many of the intelligence agencies of the world have conducted their investigations over the past decade or more. His rhetoric has stirred the emotions of much of Islam.
