This is the best tip I can provide for playing poker in the casinos. Know the right times to play. If making money is the end goal then do you want to play against good or bad poker players? Bad poker players! This summer I've been going up to the casinos between midnight and 1:00 am. The bars in my area start last call at about 1:15am. The drunks start rolling in about 1:00 am. There is nothing better then playing poker against a bunch of drunks who are chasing cards.

You should only be playing about 20% of your hands. Don't be chasing flushes or straights all the time. Then after the flop the more cards there are that will improve your hand the better. If you only have a few outs you can stay in if the bet isn't too big. If you have tons of outs it could be time for a raise.
Trying to hit 1 card all the time for a flush or a straight will cause you to go broke very quickly.
Position also plays a big part. If you are last to act and everybody else has checked you can be pretty confident nobody has a very strong hand. If you are first to act and don't have a great hand - don't bet it.
The thing they don't show on TV poker is all the folding that goes on. They of course only show the action hands and give the false impression that everyone plays every hand.

You have to look at poker in the long term, because if you only look at short term results then you could be bitterly disappointed. You will have days or weeks or even months where your bank roll may take some hits. I like to set an amount of money, if the game is good, meaning i have an advantage over the table then i stay and try to make as much money as i can and if table conditions change then i might quit and look for a better table to play. Why would you want to give up your advantage to other players who are either just as strong as you or are better players then you are. If you are the 1000 best player in the world then what does it matter if you are playing the 999th best player, you want the table to play into you and not the other way around. Conditions at cash table can change very suddenly, so keep aware of that, maybe some people have got tired and left and the ones that have taken their place are much more aggressive players then before or you may find the table short-handed as well so you will have to adjust your game accordingly, just don't try to get all your loses back in one go around.

I play online and in the casino. The best way to leave with your winning is to start small. say to yourself after I am up 100 I will leave. And DO IT!!!! no matter how long you have been there. 5 min or 5 hrs. discipline is the key to a successful winner. once your master this you will see an increase in your winnings. By the way online I have won more than I could have ever won in the casinos.
But beware it is unreal the way you get beat!!! lol but in that too you must be patience. Good Luck!!!!

Simple. If you don't know when to walk away, your game is solid, but you need help with money management.
How much is enough for you to win? Are you playing for enjoyment or just the money?
If it's just the money, you must set yourself a goal, hit it and walk away. Playing any longer is putting temptation in your path.
Only play when you are alert, not tired, drunk or stoned.
Only play when you are in a positive frame of mind.
Don't set out saying "I am OK if I lose up to... $x" because you have already told yourself that it's OK to lose. It's never OK to lose in my book.
Study the game continuously. Don't be too complacent. There may be leaks in your game that will only become apparent if you study.
You'd be welcome at the Church anytime.

Play tight and aggressively when you do play a pot. Don't be afraid to bet if everyone checks to you, even if you have nothing, especially if there are 3 or less people in the pot. A lot of times nobody is trapping, everyone just missed the flop.

The biggest tip it to have your brain, not emotion, dictate your bets. The pros know the odds and the pot odds. Many math geniuses state on line and go one to make big money. You may be competing agiants some real good pleayers.
