I agree. Society has trained our children not to think for themselves. Calculators are wonderful things, but were you allowed on for a test! They can't count change without the register telling them how much to give. I was at a Hyatt Regency Hotel when the computers went down. The gentleman could not give me change! I was shocked! Homework should be a piece of cake.........essays, research projects, reports.......what is the big deal now. you can find many resources online.
Jesus, I sound like my parents....lol

Would have KILLED for the Internet when I was a girl (back in the Olden Days, when we were trying to master the technological marvel known as "fire"). Back then, interlibrary loan was *really neat*; now, there's Project Gutenberg and Google, which ROCKS!.....
....and in a good half of the questions here, the kids have _absolutely no idea_ of how to do even the most elementary research, or how to limit a topic to a manageable size.
And they'll be running the world in another 40 years? SHUDDER!
(OK, won't clobber ALL the young'uns....but the widespread lack of critical thinking, combined with inability to handle even basic American Standard/British Standard English, is really frightening.)
(Gets down from soapbox.)

I think that the internet should be used for research purpose only and the rest by mind. I had to do it the hard way by books and lots of books for information on my assignments. I've done well without the internet. So, kids stop being lazy and wasting your time on the internet and start moving on those books!

it's just part of being a human. I mean everyone wants to go the easy way. Even smart honors kids cheat on their test and copy their homework from their friends. I think one of the reasons is that the world today is a lot more demanding in terms of education than it was in the old days.

the computer does help with homework i have to admit. however, now that everyone has the option of using the computer..kids are getting lazier by just using it to find answers. i think that it should only be used for typing and research when it comes to homework. the rest is up to your brain!

they are making a mockery of the folk who answer them. I certainly have stopped answering questions that i believe are cheaters. till all of us come to three style of contract approximately the thank you to respond there is little we are in a position to do. I have been given mentioned for responding ' Google it' (no longer an answer). needless to say my charm fell on deaf ears. there's no solid thank you to stay away from this i do no longer think of. it would be nice to eliminate the 'Homework' type. it would be nice to be waiting to maintain every person under 21 out of right here yet i do no longer think of there is the thank you to do it. i might additionally pick to inspire human beings to offer hyperlinks different than wikipedia while they cite their references.
