I'm pretty sure that if you can pass all of the physical tests and score well on the ASVAB, that you can get in. Especially lately. As for the reserves, I had read that you can join until 40 in the army reserves. Not sure about the other services, though a co-worker from the Navy said they only take enlistees through 36.

I have known medical professionals who have become surgeons for the Armed Forces, some well into their 40s and 50s with no previous enlistment, but those are the only exceptions to the age limit I know of.

One Military.com I saw an article of a woman who had joined the Air Force at 41. I did have a friend who joined the marines at 32. His thoughts now are "what the hell was I thinking?" But he did well and was one of the first in Baghdad.

Two guys from my rescue squad. One joined the Navy Reserve, the other just went into the Army in Intelligence. Both were over 35 and thrilled they could join, they thought they'd missed their chance.

I would say go for it. At least go talk to a recruiter and see what he has to say. Take the ASVAB and see what jobs that qualifies you to do, try to do really well so you'll have a better choice. Maybe you can even go to OCS after Basic and AIT. Good Luck.

I am personally, seriously looking in on going back. I was told to try to get a waiver.
I am 36, although, when I was in boot camp years ago, they make age exceptions on a case by case basis.

A lady on here last week was turning 40 when she was in book camp, they raised the age limit. I have known others in my son's class.
