Never!!! Anything illegal is..... illegal and should therefore NEVER BE COMMITTED. I would find some way to earn more money, even if it involved me finding a couple more jobs and working for 20 hours a day. Also, if anyone else was to commit something like robbing the bank, or knocking over a Wal-Mart or something because they don't have enough money, they should do the same amount of time in jail as anyone else who did the same thing. Besides, anyone could say they needed more money, but the real question in that case would be "What do you need the money for?" I "need" more money so I can get an XBox 360, but is that a good reason? I don't think so.

No. If I was making $200 a month, I would do many other things first:
1. Find a second, or third job
2. Ask for help from friends and family
3. Find a roommate to help with bills
4. Take one of the many online diploma courses to get a higher paying job. Then use the higher paying job to go to a real university (actually did this, but I was making $400 a month.)
5. live below my means in any way I can (even if it means eating Ramens for a year or three--- did this during Frosh and Soph year at uni. Not so bad actually, there is this cookbook on how to add to your Ramens for low cash, but high nutrition and flavor)
6. move to another area. with many places offering free internet, I could put a 'will relocate' message on Monster and get a new job somewhere else. It would be hard, but nothing won easily is ever valued.

My Grandmother picked cotton when she was a child. She took in sewing and laundry projects. When she met my Grandfather (a steelworker) she was so happy to be out of the fields. She still took in work (babysitting, sewing) and started a small farm to supplement. She saved all her money, but still couldn't send 6 kids through school. So all of them entered the services. My father was the oldest. He became an Engineer. Despite his degrees, or perhaps in spite of (many say he is 'overqualified'),he now can only find work in a Factory in Indiana. He works with fresh new immigrants everyday. He can't speak Spanish, despite trying. He knows the bad words tho. He doesn't hold it against them. They came here legally (mostly) and are just one rung lower than him on the ladder of opportunity. My father also saved all that he could for his kids. In the end though, I wasn't ethnic enough for scholarships. Despite being 80% Native American, I didn't carry a card that stated my official affiliation. When it came to school I came up short. So I worked. I studied online. I got a tax preparer degree. I supplemented my income by doing monthly income checks for truck drivers. After I was able to get my ID card proving my race, I found scholarships and went to school. I now have several degrees. I have even started a small at home business with my mother (cosmetics, low start up, very easy to do!). This is my story. This is the story of many Americans. This is a true American Dream..... constant improvement of one's situation. I sympathise with any immigrant that makes low money. I applaud their continued efforts to improve. I WILL NOT condone illegal actions. My Grandmother didn't steal. My Father didn't run drugs. I didn't turn tricks. We worked hard. We'll contine to work hard. My children will work hard (or so help them!). I will not accept any excuse for illegal activities. There is NO excuse.

No I wouldn't. And I don't believe people should use it as an excuse for breaking the law. Many poor people do respect laws and have not lowered to unacceptable behavior. And I believe if they break the law they should be held accountable rich or poor. Sadly we live in a world were many try to justify bad behavior and excuse it.

i have lived on 50 bucks a week and it isn't easy. lost my house, lost my wife and children, ate out of the restaurant dumpster, did sh it jobs and lived along side of the railroad tracks but I made it. I never lost my pride which is something you people know nothing about so there for I didn't have to steal, or break the law to survive. just wish you pansies could understand ,that is what makes a man ,not the fact he stands up to pee.

A law is a law and a crime is a crime. If you can't live your life without breaking the laws of our society, you should be removed from society - e.g. jail or deportation. I hate any criminal - doesn't matter if they're a "good person" just trying to "feed their families." If they can't survive without committing a crime, they don't need to be here.

If I was only making that much money a month I would defently go out and try to get another job to make more. I surely wouldn't suck off others. That isn't right.

Cowboy, if you don't know the logical answer to your question, you must be swimming in the dough!

People with good incomes are not exempt from the list of infractions you have given. Poor people can have honor as well. If this is not the answer you were looking for, keep in mind, I answered the question the way it was drafted.

We did in the 30's. And no we did not abandon our land and our country. We worked hard to fix the problem.
Now someone wants to take it.
I give it to you, our children.
Will you fight to keep it?
