yes socialization is very important at that age. they want to fit in and do what the other kids are doing. when i went to mixers at that age they were in a school so they were all supervised. it was just kids dancing and having fun!

I'm not sure what a mixer is, but if your talking about going out with guys and girls then thats your decision. I allow my child to go if it is in a public place, movies or the mall I think its okay. Also be picked up and dropped off by a parent
If a mixer is a party then only if it was at my house or someone I trusted, theyll play spin the bottle or god knows what else if not

No... unless you know the kids who will be there and can be sure the mixer is well supervised (at all times)! Kids are getting into all kinds of stuff -- younger and younger. (I'm afraid my daughter will hate me when she's old enough, but no mixers for her!)

I let my daughter have them at our house a few times. I would make sure that the home your daughter is going to has parents that are planning on sticking around. I would always go and check on them plus we did things so we could interact with them as well. We had a blast. Sheltering her now is only going to lead to her being more inquisitive later.

Sure. With how old fashioned you are by calling them mixers she is bound to think the condom machine is really dispensing bubble gum. Hopefully when she starts to get that tingling feeling in her panties after dancing with a boy she will just think it was something she ate.

I went in 7th grade and my son went in 7th grade. At least it's a school function and there are chaperones there. I used to drive my son there and watch him go in and then pick him up afterwards.

depends is it shaparoned and do they have to stay in sight of the shaparones....cause if they are allowed to wonder by themselves it may not be a good idea...i remember grade 7 and kids that age are more sexual then you would think and you dont want her to get herself in a mess.....and i am now 24 so think now things are more crazy then they use to be, so i can just imagine what that age talks about and does now!

Yes, with you as a school chaperone. Other than that, no. Perfect age to start experimenting with drugs in the girls bathroom.
