I live in an area where digital broadcasts wont be available until 2010 Tay bridge transmiter Dundee,the are where I stay is a listed building and almost at sea level, I cannot have a satilite dish as it is a listed area, there is no Television land line cables near, is there an external aerial I can buy to receive digital tv on the freeview box or thru a aBT landline/

Hi there. As digital broadcasts are not available in your area until 2010, the straightforward answer would have to be no to putting up an aerial for that purpose. However, I am interested where you received the information from as most of the public reference sites for whether you can receive digital freeview are quite badly wrong and are often only a guide. The area I live in is not supposed to receive freeview digital TV, but I have happily been installing aerials and setting up digital TV in the same area for the last 4 years! Also, the 2010 date sounds like it may be the switch off year for analogue terrestrial, ours is 2012, so maybe consult a local knowledgeable aerial installer. Warch out for whether the listed status allows aerials on the outside of the building though....

I don't know which area of Dundee you are in, but I put a few random DD postcodes in the Freeview area finder thingy and they said it was available??!! Maybe you should check again. The link is attached below.

You can't get it through a phoneline yet.
can you not put a satelite dish up in your garden or somehere else and run a long cable from it to your house?
