Maybe you should get her spayed, anyway. There are Pit Bulls in every shelter in ever major city in this country, and most of these shelters refuse to adopt them out -- i.e. they're immediately killed when they come into the shelter.

Do you know you have enough good homes (and I mean GOOD homes, ones that know how to properly raise and train a Pit Bull) for all of her puppies? If not, please don't breed.

Check these sites for more information:

You should also NOT be breeding if your male is only a year old. That's entirely too young. I imagine you probably have no idea about testing for genetic disease (i.e. hip dysplasia), but you can't test for many genetic problems until a dog is at least two years old. And you SHOULD test against these problems, rather than ignorantly passing them on.

Please spay your female.

Maybe he's smarter than you and knows that pit bulls are a tragically overbred breed of dog, filling shelters all across the country, just waiting to die. He doesn't want to create any more pit bull puppies when there are already more than we know what to do with. And he also knows that you're not qualified to see your ***** through a healthy pregnancy and whelping and he doesn't want her to get hurt.

Maybe he has heard that there are far too many cats and dogs already in the world, so many that thousand a day have to be put down, and he doesn't want to contribute to the problem.
