If I read your question correctly it sounds like you lightened your hair. Yes? Well, that's not soooo bad. If you had coloured your hair darker then you would just have to be patient.

First of all, even though you are unhappy with the current colour of your hair, make sure you are taking good care of it. Professional shampoo, conditioner, reconstructor, and leave-on conditioner. If your hair is unhealthy then when you try to add or remove colour you are playing a guessing game.

Now, since it sounds like you just want to alter the "tone" of your hair slightly darker, there is an easy solution. Redken (professional again!) makes a really great colour shampoo with various colour pigment in it. It is designed to maintain your colour (say, keep red bright longer) or tone out brass with blondes for example. Goldwell also makes a nice product. There are many different shades to choose from.

So, keep using your good products, and add one of these in the tone that you want to add to your hair. Go to a salon and any stylist will help you choose the right one.

I don't think there is a remedy except to wash your hair, a lot, try pantene's shampoo for brunette's, I think there is one that's for almond/toffe color, it might tone down the gold. Be careful not to over wash it as it will lose it's own moisture. I have light auburn/blonde hair and when I dye it more red it fades very fast so I asked why this happens and my stylist said I wash it too often (gee I shower every day but I'm not suppose to shampoo my hair?)....

the only thing to do is let it grow or die it back u went lighter so it should be easier to die darker if your nervous pick one of those non perm dyes that wash out in like 2 weeks that way you can try out the color. If your going back to origanal color take a pic o your hair then with you and compare to the color on box get the closeist match so when it grows out it will loo like natural sun highlights and shading.

If you straighten it, the dye will fade FAST! I had dyed hair and I straightened it with a home straightener (basically a perm without rollers). It faded so much, I could hardly tell I had had it dyed! Good luck! And be sure to condition!!!

Nope Your going to have to dye it back sorry to say...Or you can keep on washing it till it comes out which would last about a year

Ok, First off... If you made your hair lighter, you removed the color previously in it... No way to "wash" it out... So if you want your hair color back without dying it again... You have to let it grow out. Sorry sweets... Its just a fact.

tricky, but anti dandruff shampoo is well known for dulling dye, so that may help tone it down a bit. no easy answer other than let it grow out though sorry

Hi there! Use a shampoo that doesn't have a color protector or enhancer in it. After awhile it will go away...I did this once before because I got tired of the color as well.....good luck!
