No, actually, God ordained science, when he told us to subdue the Earth, which implies a study of its processes. The problem is, ppl reject God, and try to interpret everything without Him, and outside of a biblical framework. They should be interpreting things from the biblical point of view.

sometimes. It is the same as everything else we accept what is the most self serving. It was beneficial to many christians when scientists themselves discovered the remains of Noahs Ark, but it is not beneficial to say that science itself works in conjunction with the ideas of religion. For instance the law of science dicusses the realtionship of man and how he can change the physical relationship of his world by the theory of relativity. How is that any different from the bible phrase of do unto others as you would do unto yourself. Isnt it the same principle of cause and effect. Karma, negative energy unholy whatever you call it.
Science is only a reflection of mens theroys waiting to be proven with facts. The refelection of mens theorys is an act of god. How can it be seperated when they are one in the same. One just teaches a more black and white idea presented with facts. And the other is to have faith in the facts that isnt presented. Thats all

Absolutely. The major religions in the world try to use the intrepretation, of the most printed work of fiction ever, (yes folks i'm referring to the Bible) to help decide science questions. It doesn't work very well. And if you want an excellent example of religion holding science back, just look up stem cell research. What a great idea... lets hold back the thing that could potentially cure most modern diseases and disorders. And don't even get me started about creationists. That's a bag of worms you don't want to open.

Perhaps... if we didn't have any religions, our science and technology research outcome may only be slightly different than what we currently have. We may have less "war" machines and more "healing" techniques, but not really any much more advanced than what we have now.

Also it is possible that all research that needed to be tested in such a manner would still be done on the various animals as it is today (although many are trying to halt this sort of study), but there may also be research being tested on humans as well (such as those condemned to death).

Yes.

Christianity and other religions hold all human activities back from immoral and unethical actions.

The inhuman experiments done on human subjects in Nazi concentration camps show one example of how out of control science can get.

Christianity is the world's most vocal protector of the dignity of human life.

With love in Christ.

The religions themselves don't hold people back, it's their radicals in those religions that try. Whether we allow them to or not is a different story. And right now yes we are allowing them to hold science back.

Christianity used to - look at Galileo. But not so much nowadays.
However Islam, which, as it's practiced in many places, is still inimical to some science. In some Islamic lands, the Enlightenment (not to mention a Reformation) passed them by.

Not at all, science has always been here. Religion is man made, the laws of physics cannot be changed or altered. New Gods are made or changed about every 700 years, historically
