Hey there, with the money you are spending on over the counter products, you can take your dog into a groomer and get him a bath. I take my dog in once a month and they wash him in a special shampoo that makes him smell good and it lasts for several weeks. A haircut/shampoo at my dog's groomer costs $40. Good luck!

pit bulls are pretty known for having skin problems. If it's not one thing it's another for mine.. For one, don't wash him everyday. It's not good for him at ALL, it dries his skin out and makes things worse.. I wash mine once a week and even still my vet says thats too much but my daughter puts yogurt, make-up, juice, anything she has all over my dog and I have to wash her. I use a sulfidine shampoo that you can buy from wal-mart, my dog is allergic to my grass so she's always breaking out and that helps. The shampoo doesn't smell good at all but my house doesn't smell like dog.

Once you have him checked by a vet and rule out any skin disorder, if he still stinks, bathe him in tomato juice. Or have him professionally groomed. Or rub him down with a fabric softener sheet, like Bounce.

i know that tomato juice works for skunks. when my dog got sprayed by one that was the only thing that helped. where exactly is the dog smelly at? if its his ears , mouth , privates than he might have an infection and should be seen by a vet. but seeing as how you just got him you should also have him checked out anyway. try the tomato juice and or make him an appointment at a dog grooming place. they'll bath him, clip his nails and even clean his ears. good luck.

I would suggest taking your dog to a vet to have it looked at. It might be a skin disorder. If the vet finds nothing wrong with it, well, get it to a groomer, they should know what to do...

He caould actually have a skin disorder. You could try bathing him in baking soda...but to be safe...take him to a vet and make sure its not something that all those other products are adding to. They could cause more problems. Good Luck !!!

quit wasting your money on home remedies. You need to take him to a groomer. Dogs have glands in their butt that need to be squeezed out. Groomers know of this and how to do it. Until the glands are squeezed out, your dog will continue to stink.
