I've recently begun to become very cold when I exercise. I run three miles a day on the treadmill, in addition to walking about seven miles doing everyday stuff. I sweat, but do not feel heat. Instead, I get shivery and a little clammy feeling. Is it normal or is it something to be worried about?
Thank you.

I do alot of running and can't recall the shivery, clammy stuff, but I remember something like that at times. A treadmill---hmmm; is there air conditioning in the building? If so, it may be time to hit the dusty trails (actually, it is best to run on a grass surface - less wear and tear on the joints.) However, for those like myself who overdo any and every thing, too much intense exercize can weaken the immune system. A surprising number of marathoners come down with colds or infections following a race. I doubt, though, if you are in this category. Do your vitamins. Chow.

Sounds like you caught a little bug. If it continues id see a Dr. , but right now thats all it sounds like . I had that all last week I was sweating but freezing. I feel better now. I was exhausted too though.
Could be all the air conditioners too. Everywhere I go lately its cold. I had to take a sweater to the movies in 90 degree weather because they have the AC so high.

With all the exercise you're doing, you really need to eat more or else you'll lose muscle. It's also not good for your heart. I'm not sure how many calories you need. You should check out sparkpeople.com and find out. It gives advice and tracks your progress - and it's free.

You are describing the onset of shock. The blood is pooling in your organs as a defense from some trauma.
You need to ease off. Hydrate. Probably you are starving yourself.

you have had the body activity more than your capacity. Start from half a mile and increase very gradually. Don't forget to refer to a specialist Doctor soon, but don't worry at all.

when i am exerperiencing low blood sugar, i feel the same way. have a small healthful snack one hour before you plan to exercise, and keep some orange juice handy for when your blood sugar starts to drop. low blood sugar is a problem because it can lead to fainting, comas, and death. also, the glucose in your blood is also the food your brain uses. so, keep healthy snacks around when you exercise. good luck

Sounds like it is time to get a physical and blood work.
Hypothyroidism can show up like this... also anemia, and some other things that are easily fixed if they are found out about.
Go see the doc.

Are you sure you are eating/drinking enough?
Don't forget you need to eat a little more if you exersise that much. I'm no doctor, but it sounds like it might be dehydration or malnutrition.
