No, there is nothing wrong in wanting to learn about different religions or beliefs. This will actually help you to make an informed decision. Or maybe help you to not make a decision at all.

No, you can check out different churches, versions of the Bible, etc. For example I belong to a large church but I enjoy attending small Bible classes for a more intimate conversation about what we are studying.

Watch people around you, maybe you admire something about them and the key may be their belief in Jesus, if so, you may want to attend a service or two with them to see what it is like.

Also you can listen to radio stations/TV that have different points of views and see what lines up with your life and beliefs. But don't be surprised if you outgrown these things in time as you begin to grow and learn.

It's NEVER wrong to study the Holy Bible.

One is not saved by their works, it is by Faith...lest any man should boast.

Your salvation (seat in Heaven) is set if you will have Faith in the Living God and His Son Jesus.

Once you have a firm foundation in your Faith walk...I would encourage you to study other "religions." It will prove to you what is the truth...and how the enemy lies and will deceive those that don't know the truth.

Something to think about...how will you know a lie if you don't know the truth (Holy Bible)...

What I love about Christianity is that God is seeking a personal relationship with you, through Jesus Christ. WOW!!!

Grace to you and God Bless...

P.S. There are religions out there that claim to be Christian...but they are not. They have moved away from being Christian Orthodox (study the Holy Bible only). There is only one truth and it is the Holy Bible. If someone teaches from "another holy book" it's a lie and a cult. Be very careful!

Not at all. However, do not search for "the perfect church" - after all, as soon as you join it, it won't be perfect anymore. ;)

Instead, find the faith which speaks to your spirit, which seems to be just a little more true than the others. You might take a look at "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis for a good discussion of choosing a religion.

It's also worth taking a good hard look at whatever faith tradition you were raised in.

Best wishes and God bless.

It's actually a good idea to do so if you focus on true bible believing churches/groups (which I'm afraid means ignoring the suggestion to go to the LDS site).

of course not. That's the only way to find out which one is truely right for you. Read any religious text and go to as many churches and gatherings, pagan or otherwise, until you find the one that you can say okay this is me. No one would mind and if the do tell to screw themselves your soul searching.

No. Actually, that is probably the best method. Just be careful not to judge by appearances, and to study the doctrines carefully to make sure that they work.

There is nothing wrong if you are wanting to get back into church to visit other churches. But we are not suppose to get a church that FITS US, but one that we can fit into, we are not to get the bible to fit us, but to get us to fit the bible. And if you are truely sincere & honest with God, he will show you the place to be.

Not at all that's why God put them in the church. So you could find a group that fits you where you can fit in and have joy...Jim
