I would definately set up a second litter box as a first step. Many cats don't like sharing litter boxes with other cats. Make sure you put the box where he is going so he will make the connection easily.
Also, since he's a tom, it may be time to have him neutered. When toms get to a certain age, they tend to spray to mark their territory, especially when there are multiple cats. Maybe this is his way of showing you and the other kitties that the place is his.
Good luck!

Strangely enough some cats like to poo in one box and urinate in another. This may be going on with your male kitten. Remember the litterbox rule: # of cats + one.
I wouldn't rush the kitty off to the vet just yet. Try putting litterboxes in the two bathrooms where he is going. Or just keep the door closed all the time in the other one.

They are due for a vet check around 4 months anyways, so I would get that ruled out first.
Second - do they use the same litterbox? Try getting a second one.
Third - try switching the litter
Last but not least, re-train him. Whenever you are not watching him, put him in a closet or bathroom. On one side, leave food and water and a bed. On the other side, put his litter box. He's not going to go next to his food, so he will learn to go in the box.

Hmmm, extraordinary. Is she doing one (like peeing) consistently interior the litterbox, and the different (like pooping) exterior of it? If she is, then you definately can a minimum of be constructive the project is psychological. If no longer, maybe a vet examine would be so as first, to rule out a bladder an infection. so a techniques as psychological subjects, i will recommend the extra obtrusive ability reasons - any replace in muddle or litterboxes recently, or in litterbox places? Any new contributors to the relatives recently - a puppy or a individual? Any new gadgets close to her packing packing containers, something that would desire to be scaring her in some way? i'd throw out the tub mats she's peed on, through fact as quickly as the smell is there she's probably to maintain peeing there. (yet Nature's Miracle somewhat does artwork miracles on cat urine smell). possibly you need to eliminate the tub mats from the flooring, and in basic terms positioned them in there once you're fairly in there for a tub or although. removing the tub mats would do the trick. If all else fails, you may desire to ask the vet approximately something like cat prozac or perhaps cat `valium', and use that for awhile to shrink the cat's stress. good success

Sometimes cats don't like to use a littler box another cat has used. I had two cats and the female cat was like that but the male cat didn't care. make sure your litter box is extra clean. If you have to after scooping make sure you cover it with some fresh litter. My female would use it if it was ultra clean.
Good Luck

if he was doing fine, and now he's suddenly going elsewhere, maybe he's acting out. i've had this happen- three cats, one began to get jealous of the other two and we were finding 'gifts' in the house where they shouldn't have been left. try putting a box in the bathrooms if thats where he likes to go.

To the vet... He may have a urinary tract infection. It causes pain while he is releiving himself. He has equated this pain with the litterbox since thats where he experiences it. It could be his food or just a need for a cycle of antibiotics
