he was married before. she cheated on him and left him to remarry. he has one son and he thinks about him every day. sometimes it makes him very sad. he has not seen his child in years because the ex is crazy.

what words can i say to make him feel better? how do I help him cope with these issues? he feels like a failure and not very manly because she left him. i want him to know that obviously she wasnt the one.

but how do i help him and his sadness over the child?

look here, i have been following this melodrama of yours for a few weeks and normally i just send you my troll-like inciteful answers but im going to take a break from that and be serious with you for a few seconds

you are killing yourself over this guy, and the bottom line is if he were that much into you, you would not have to work so hard at this, men do not play around when they are truly interested in a woman, when we are in love, we go after what we want and we do not stop until we get it

its obvious that he is not pursuing you with this type of zeal and you are going to end up waiting for him to feel something for you that you never will

a whole lot of time and emotion are going to be spent on this guy and he will never feel the same way, i know all this sounds harsh, but i think its true

cut your losses and find a guy who is as crazy about you as you are about him

You need to just be there for him when he is down. Let him know he will never be alone because you are always there for him. He will need to be given a long time to get used to the idea that you are not going anywhere. He has been hurt and is afraid to trust again.

Be very patient with him. He will take two steps forward, then fall one step back. You have to give him the freedom he needs when he feels he is getting too close and my be hurt again. He will come back and get closer to you each time.

You know that having a child with him will not replace the child he is missing. It will help fill the void, but he will not be happy until he has contact with his own son. Support him in all of his efforts to see the boy. It may come to a court battle, but make sure he knows you will be there for him. Good Luck!
