Well I've never worked in a daycare, but I do watch kids in my home and the people you usually come from daycare were usually very unhappy with the results. The complaints I 've heard are diaper rashes, kids bitting, not getting feed enough, coming home fealty, always being sick. Those type of things. I 've been told about. I'm sure that there are good ones out there too, you just have to search.

I have worked in daycare and would never go back. I would prefer my child to go to preschool instead. It is a really different feel between daycare and preschool. Usually, daycare staff are not educated and there is a high turnover rate. Many of the children are there for most of the day. The daycare staff does not get much time off and become burnout easily. The children are, therefore, more unruly. In many preschools the teachers are educated and the good ones keep their teachers.
I don't feel a child should start preschool until they turn 3. It has nothing to do with what they learn academically. Social and emotional readiness is most important. Children who attend preschool do much better in kindergarten than children who have not had any preschool experience.

I work in a nursery and i see alot of children who get dropped off at 8am when it opens stay until 6pm (close) and they are in everyday of the week!
I just think its tough on these children as they see there parents for an hour every night and just at weekends!
I have nothing against the parents as its not there fault as they need to earn there money some how!
And
I would actually put my child in daycare as i would like my child to get socially active with the other children.
2-3 days out of the week is perfect for younger children as they get to spend half of the week with family and the other half with friends at the nursery or vica versa!

Daycare is really important for kids. It gives kids everyday to interact with others, and do special projects. They need that too. If kids are by their parents all the time they tend to take advantage of them, and become whinny, because us parents will do anything for our children. Daycare really does teach the kids manners, and it's good to get them on a schedule. In the end it really helps with social problems like anxiety and is fun for them.

I've never worked in one, and personally I use a private sitter..
but
Not enough attention given to the children. A few adults only stretch so far with 30+ kids.
Germs spread faster that wild fire. That means lots of Doctor visits.. and medicine.
