Christians are open about wrongs our ancestors have done, the crusades, the inquisition, clergy abuse.
All Religions are made up of humans and humans sometimes fall. The best thing is to admit where you (or your ancestors) have wronged and learn from it.
Yet most Muslims only react to people talking about Wrongs commited by Muslims with examples of where Christians have done bad things.
Does one justify the other?
Why can't we all just be honest and move on?

No, I don't want a debate of specific things. If one is devout enough they can always find a justification if they want to. Every war and wrong ever commited can be justifyed away.
But we don't learn anything from that.

Sulliman,
I NEVER said that Muslims were evil, or ignorant.
You seem to be saying that because YOU believe that our Bible is corrupt that all wrongs committed by Muslims are justifed?
Changing the subject seems to happen a lot as well.
I thought it was a simple question, is there a law in Islam that you cannot speak against other Muslims that you claim do not really follow the faith?

MT,
well sorry, but the responces from "Most Muslims" here agrees. Peyton is the only one who admited that there have been bad things done, others even threatned violence for the mere suggestion. I admited in my post that Christians have not always been perfect, I would think that would take the judgemental aspect out of it.
This question comes out of years of discussions with Muslims all over the world, some I consider my friends.
Peace!

I am Muslim and I do accept this, I know that a group of Muslim idiots were responsible for 9/11 and I don't want people to think of those idiots when they see a scarf on my head.
All Muslims should denounce this behavior, although it was done in the name of Islam it was not Islamic behavior. We should also set a good example in everything we do and make a point to make friends with nonmuslims so that we can change how people view us one person at a time.
Good point u made

Well, why do you consider Muslims only as ignorant and not justifying to their acts. You see, many people in the west don't have faith they had like their ancestors. Sorry but my friend, your book the Bible is corrupted and full of errors and contradictions. If you still disagree with this, I am sorry. Whoever has faith in God and fights under his name for the good and change from bad to good in this world is blessed in every religion says this. Anyway, this peacefulness will never happen between both sides until Prophet Jesus (Peace and Blessings be upon him) will come. I understand how you feel and it hurts a lot especially when your the harassed one.

I don't know why your asking this question specifically - meaning, is this stemming from a particular experience with a Muslim or Muslims you have had, or your general impression of Muslims, but, I am sure that there are Muslims who would freely discuss history, and wrongs that have been committed by individuals calling themselves Muslims.
To imply that there aren't any Muslims who can accept that Muslims have sinned/committed errors in history, is essentially a myopic viewpoint in and of itself (I realize that in the detail behind your questions you used the term "most Muslims," but this is still a stereotype). Seems to me that you are being as one sided as the "Muslims" to whom you refer, and, although I'm not a Muslim, if someone asked me a question in this general tone (seems to be fairly argumentative in nature), I doubt that my first instinct (even as a Christian) would be to turn the other cheek and say, yes, there have been bad things done, and leave it at that. Most people don't react that way - even if Christianity says they should.
As for "moving on," exactly what do you have in mind? Should people ignore their own personal and family history because it upsets you? History and our ancestors are part of who we are. I understand the frustration in your last question, in that you probably feel like you are trying your best to be open and honest about the past, but, ultimately, to be completely honest, history has left some people - typically white, christians living in the USA and Europe with most of the world's wealth, while it has left others with much less. I am not saying this is right, wrong, or anything else (and wealth does not mean happiness or imply superiority) - it simply is - but you have to remember that people are what they are in part of where they came from and where they started - and it's not fair to simply say, I am honest about things, and so, it is only right that everyone should automatically know that about me, assume I only mean the best, and never take my questions or possible implications of my questions the wrong way, or be defensive in any way.
If you have ever been defensive in your life, or not completely honest about something - and, if you want to be honest, I'm sure you have been defensive and haven't always been completely honest - then, you do understand people reacting the way they do - you just don't want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they may have a good reason for acting the way they do - you just seem to want them to give you the benefit of the doubt - and you want to refer to that as them "being honest and moving on."
Doesn't seem fair to me.
PS - "Moving on" takes time. That's my point - you want what you want, and you want it right now - you aren't respecting the fact that different people have different viewpoints, and that, even if they are being defensive, or even wrong, that doesn't make them bad - and it doesn't mean you need to be upset by it. Perhaps if you were more understanding, and gave the world time time change, "moving on" would happen - it just won't happen because you want it to, though, and perpetuating stereotypes about most Muslims isn't helping in a good way.

Because defending the 'House of Submission [Islam]' is more important then defending the 'House of War [that's us].'
Suleiman uses Taqiyya [permitted lies in Islam] to cloud the issues and adds weird rantings as a spice. He is more clever than Aissa and Invincible who outright distort. He and Muslim try to be more subtle on some points.
Suliman,
You want me to believe my "book is corrupted" because a used camel salesman who was also a robber and massacred Jews in Medina [only for disagreeing with him] claims that is so, as against years of Biblical scholarship? No wonder some people go and blow themsleves up for this ideology called Islam! It is a fantasy world.
Peyton6,
"All Muslims denounce this" is a lie. I have never seen a protest like that staged against a cartoon against the 9/11 attack or any act of Muslim terror. All that happens is groups scream we are prejudiced for pointing out who wants to kill us.
Stop the Taqiyaa

My experience is that people of all religions react defensively, at best, and sometimes with open hostility when you try to point out the bad things people and groups have done in the name of their religion and/or deity.

Keep asking these questions!!! Its the only way we as a whole can find others that will listen to reason and learn to be accepting and understanding!!

those people can move on there's no problem in it. there's no religion that says that always fighting is good. but there are always some people who know very well to corrupt other people's minds with false knowledge or beliefs and mislead them. i believe that something like that is going on with those people right now.

Most muslims do apologise but they also dissacioate Islam from those people they say they are wrong to use Islam in their wrongful actions.....they are not islamic..........the actions christians apologised for they apologised because the church was directly involved with it. no muslim mosque is directly involved with that the muslims do........the church should not have to apologise if a group of christians went crazy and burned something down UNLESS they were involved in it.....
