I am in the Party Rental Business and I hope I can help you out.
Some of the various items you will need include:
- Tent (if necessary, remember to include whether you will need walls or not)
- Chairs - something suitable for grass, not all chairs are meant to be put on grass
- Chair covers if this is a look you are going for
- A signing table doesn't necessarily have to be any larger than a 36" round or a 4' rectangular
- A table for and if you are going to have a stereo or a DJ for music
- A wedding arch, if you desire
- Some bride like the idea of being raised with groom and minister for ceremony so you can use a 8" raiser or platform
- Some like Aisle runner which you can get for fairly cheap or you can rent them. You can also purchase in all different colours
- I wouldn't suggest regular wax candles as they will blow out but you can buy little plastic glow lights (they look just like candles but they are battery operated)
- If you can find a cheap fabric store (life fabricland) you can buy fabric swagging pieces that you can use to decorate the area
If you want to have a look at our website for ideas (I doubt you are in my area but it will give you a good idea of some things to look for) www.specialevents.on.ca - if you can tell me what area you are from I can give you more info on great rental companies. My email is danni_4p@hotmail.com feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

The candles may burn out quick, so don't depend on them for decorations unless you plan on having them covered or encased in glass. Maybe just the candle lighting at the ceremony.
Nature provided you with some great ready-made decoration. As for other decorations, you have to consider what will hold up to a windy day just in case. Try metal arches and other heavy duty materials for bases of centerpieces. Try some floral stands that are taller to place around the area you will be in. If it's going to go dark out, get plenty of lights to string up in the trees. You don't want your guests stumbling in the dark. They make them in decorative covers appropriate for weddings, like bells and doves.
Check to make sure you have somewhere to go in case of rain. It should be near so your decorations can be easily moved inside to brighten the place up. Also find out about any local pest problems, and how the city/county will allow you to deal with them. If there is a large population of ducks at the park pond, make sure someone cleans up the ground the day before. Ask about repelents and things to keep pesky (and dirty) critters away. Find out if there is a limit to people you have have there, do you need a permit, is alcohol allowed, noise ordinances, restroom availability, electricity for DJ's and music, and other concearns.
Talk with each vendor before you hire them. They should have experience with outdoor weddings to know how to cope with less than perfect situations. Food will need to be kept warm or cold, drink refridgeration, lighting for the photos and video, and positioning so that no one is looking into the sun durring the ceremony.

Huh? You are getting married in a park and want to look fabulous? In a park? I guess you could wear nearly anything that looks good. The park district may have restrictions about you lighting candles so I would check with your county ot town, etc. Hope it doesn't rain.

Tikki torches are super cute, you can decorate them with bows for a more formal wedding. Rent tents if you can afford it. They are good if it rains. Drier sheets keep bugs away from food Candles are great too! Especially if the wedding is in the evening. If I knew more about your theme/colors I could give more decor ideas.

you can either rent a big white tent, or risk getting rained on.
you need some type of alter, arbor, ect.
i think large plants for dividers are always good.
no candles, they will just blow out. unless you put them in very tall hurricane glasses.
chairs or something like that (i'm having an outdoor fall wedding, and we're using benches.)

I am getting married outside in our back yard on sept. 16th . We rented the tent, tables and chairs. We are putting white christmas lights around our tent or you can pay the rental company to do it . We chose to save the money and do the lights ourselves. good luck and congratulations.

Obviously chairs, (white), and a gazebo or arch as the altar.
And lots of flower bushes and petals, ensted of having a carpet or trying to make an aisle, use rose petals or something similar as decoration on the main aisle.

flowers! candles make great decoations even if you don't end up lighting them. It depends on what the park looks like and decorations also depends on what time of year you are getting married. tents, chairs...
