1 Samuel
Verse 10-17
In bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the LORD. And she made a vow, saying, "O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head."
As she kept on praying to the LORD, Eli observed her mouth. Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk and said to her, "How long will you keep on getting drunk? Get rid of your wine."
"Not so, my lord," Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief."
Eli answered, "Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him."

I agree with you. I pray first thing when I get up in the morning and the last thing I do when going to bed, and I just lay there and think my prayers and I know God hears my prayers just as if I had shouted them from the roof top. God Bless.

No you don't have to pray out loud. You can pray in your mind & God hears you just fine. I do it all the time.

I think that it is says in the holy bible that God already knows what we are going to pray for before we even go to him in prayer, the only reason that we pray out loud or in quiet is mainly just for ourselves.

The word says to pray without ceasing, I believe that is in your spirit, whether you are praying, praising, thinking, thanking, or musing. Yes, God knows your heart and will hear you, but also in the Lord's prayer, the model prayer, He starts out by saying, when you pray SAY this. The spoken word has so much power in it. Think of how much words can affect people. It is no different in prayer. You prayers for someone who is sick, needs to be heard. So they can agree with you. I assure you there are principalities listening to you.
In Eph. it says, we fight not flesh and blood but principalities of the air. Your praying is a battle with them. Your are the winner, because you have Jesus Name to call out.
So yes you can pray in your spirit, but pray out loud.Bless God out loud!~
be blessed in your walk with Jesus

No, you do not have to pray outloud. God knows what you're thinking, He searches the inner depths of the heart.
You can pray in your mind, that's the great thing about God, you can pray to Him whenever you want!

The spiritual persons in 'all' religions are divided. Some Masters preach loud, some preach silent prayers. It may be depending on the spiritual state of the initiate. Kindly ask your Spiritual Master, for the answer that applies to you. And good luck to you and your wife.

Pray the way that is best to draw you nearer to God / Jesus.
I love praying both ways (in my head...and out loud).
Grace to you and God Bless!

No, you don't have to. There's no rule for it.
You pray how you most feel comfortable. The bible does say you really shouldn't pray in public, but, you can if you want.
