Your wedding vows are the promises a man and a woman make to each other as part of their marriage.

Examples include:

Foresaking all others
Taking care of each other in sickness & in health
Staying with each other for richer or poorer
Promising to love, honor, and cherish

it means that you are willing to be faithful to each other and you will be with the person through hard times and good times until death until you part. You can come up with your own if you want to if you tell the pastor what you want to promise each other. You can make vows before you are married like i promise I will always make you laugh and by us getting married it will be sealed....

A marriage vow is what you say when you commit to your partner..like 'yes honey,I promise to stop going down the pub after work'...oh God..I'm starting to cry!!

Huh? Your wedding vows are self-explanatory. You are vowing to love honor, and cherish the other person until death do you part. That's it.

You wedding vow is your promise to the other individual. usually, during the ceremony, they ask do you "promise/vow to love and to keep and to forsake all others...blah blah blah...to cherish..blah blah blah...in sickness and in health?"

If you answer "yes, or I Do", you have made a vow before all present. Since there are witnesses, it is legally binding.

Huh? Marriage vows are traditionally recited at wedding ceremonies, and can be scripted by church tradition, or be written by the participants. Either way, if you break them, you are doomed to hell for all eternity.
