OOOOH
I'd brush it with a little Garlic & Chilli infused oil and leave it to marinade for a while while you heat a griddle pan to an extremely high heat.
Once the pan is up to temperature sear the steak for about 3 minutes on each side so that it's medium rare and has those lovely bar marks on from the griddle.
I'd serve it with some crushed new potatoes with Basil and a Olive Oil and some caremalised carrot batons.
And of course a nice glass of full red wine.

Depends what you are having with it, but for a straight steak grill it under a high oven turning it over and sealing the juices in both sides, then lower the grill and depending on its thicknes cook it more slowly three more minutes either side should give you a medium rare steak but if you prefer it cooked through give it a couple of more minutes.
if you're not sure pierce it with a fork to the middle to see whether the juices run clear or are still bloodied.
if you're up to making it it goes down well with a mushroom sauce and a good glass of Cabernet Savignon.
ENJOY!

The best way to cook rump steak is to season it lightly with your choice of seasoning, i like garlic and black pepper the best. make sure the frying pan your using is really hot before you put your steak in, dependant on thickness of steak cook each side as follows: thick=10-15mins
medium=8-10mins and finally thin=5-8mins.
This should leave the steak still a little bit pink inside which is better than well done as it makes it more juicy!
Enjoy
