The most likely cause of humming in audio equipment is due to a ground loop in your home or apartment mains power wiring. A ground loop occurs through differences in resistance in the electrical system. When you connect your computer to your stereo, a path is provided for electricity to flow from one wall socket to another as the electrical system tries to balance itself. This causes your speakers to hum.

Most of the time the hum is caused by cheap cables, or cables that are too long.
Using a good quality cable should fix it.
If you are going more than 6 or 8 feet, then you need even better, heavier cables. Try not to use couplers to join 2 cables together. Those things should be labeled "HUM".
Another cause of humming is running the cable along side AC power cables. This will produce a 60Hz hum.

Try getting a new cable, or a better tuner. Either that, or speakers intended for a computer.
