* Always chew your food

* Take small meals
Eat small, frequent meals in a day. Large meals tax your digestion system, making it work harder. Taking too much time in between meals makes you hungrier for the next meal.
* Include protein at meal
Include good sources of protein at meal, chicken, fish, legumes, peanut, cottage cheese, eggs or yogurt.
* Shut off TV while eating
Shut off the TV whenever you eat – that includes meals and snacks. Studies show that we automatically eat larger portions when we snack in front of the tube, and typically those foods are high in fat and sugar, which means excess calories!
* Increase your physical activity
Increase your physical activity. Most people are over weight because of a lack of physical activity. Start walking more, bicycling, walks your dog for longer periods of time, swim, dance and leave the car at home when you can. If just exercising and eating right is not working then try going on a specific diet to lose weight, or join weight watchers or somewhere like that.
Now that you have joined a gym, ask the people there what workouts will help you, remember that they are there to help.
Maybe sign up for some classes if they do them.
Make sure that you check with your doctor what you will be able to do and if there is any exercises you should avoid due to the knee surgery you had.
You can also chew chewing gum instead of eating, and eat lots of celery as you use more calories eating it than you get from it.

Talk with the people at the gym and ask about work outs that will get rid of the weight. Also looking online about certain vitamins and minerals will help you keep more water in your system so you are really burning off water so fat does not build up!
Best thing to get the weight off is the treadmill! If your trying to lose your belly then go for V Sit Ups. Talk with the gym trainers because they are paid to help you get fit and reah any goal your trying to get :)

Don't worry, once you start playing football again you will loose the wait. However, if you want to loose it now, go on South beach and visit the gym every other day.
