I opted out of a wedding. I felt it was all a big waste of money. I got married at a courthouse. I'm still married. And I had no dilusions that I was ever a princess, or that I should live like one thereafter. My best gf spent loads of money on her wedding, she still don't have a house or real estate or anything. We saved tons of money, and have a real nice house and 3 perfect kids (ok, maybe not "perfect" but healthy) and two newer cars and vacation in places like Hawai'i. If foregoing an expensive, dilusion like a garden wedding brought me all this...I would have gotten married in a basement.
It's not about the wedding, it's about EVERYTHING after.

My husband and I married 3 years ago. Our reception was outside under a tent. After the ceremony we arrived at the boat club to find the sides of the tent were down. The manager had seen the weather report of a HUGE storm moving in. We had horrible winds, rain, lighting, thunder and hail. It looked like the tent was going to blow over! As it calmed down and cleared a bit the sky opened up to a DOUBLE RAINBOW!!! My husband and I shared the pool area with almost all of our guests starring at the rainbows. We have some beautiful pictures as a result. My father had passed away and many said it was his way of telling us he was there with us! You plan for so long and want everything to go "right". The lesson for me was we really can't control what happens and you have to make the best out of what you have. If you are going to get married just relax and enjoy the process. If it rains, people will get wet but the good thing is.....water dries!!! Good Luck!!!

I had an underwater scuba wedding., complicated by lightning and thunderstorms... The boat ride made my mother sick to her stomach as well. The rest of them watched it aboard a boat, which was kinda cool too -- a big screen tv and a instant camera shot of what was going on. What can i say, it was unique but worth every moment.
Rule of Thumb here: Always have a backup plan. Be near a hall that has both an indoor and outdoor facility ready for you, just in case. They are usually the best.

I am getting married sept.16th in our back yard. I am praying that there is no rain. We did rent a big tent and we do have a pretty big covered patio but the sunshine will be better. If by chance it does rain we are just going to make the best of it. We are having 65-70 people and our house is a bit small to put them all in.

you ought to be making plans to lease a tent whether there isn't any possibility of rain -- some human beings will in simple terms decide for to be interior the shade for the duration of any daylight hours area. 30 human beings is rather tiny and the tents you could lease are better than accomodating. some have not got factors so which you will have each and all the outdoor relaxing.

I live in NJ so most people get a tent as back up if they get married in the spring. It's nice because it keeps the sun off of you too!

Plenty of people had this happen to them. Remember the important thing is that you are being wedded to your beloved on this day, everything else is inconsequential.
