Yes (unless you are a pharmacist or pharmacy w/ a license). Xanax is a controlled substance, is addictive, and is available only by prescription.

Not only is it illegal to by prescription drugs without an Rx, but it's a really dumb thing to do.
What guarantee do you have that you will be getting the right dosage for you, and that what is supplied is actually the real drug?
Sure, they may make pills that look similar (maybe), but unless you buy from a licensed pharmacy, under FDA regulations, you may be paying a lot for nothing - or worse, potentially for poison.
