You can lift weights, but don't forget to speak to a doctor, and after clearance you can speak to a physical trainer as to what exercises you can do safely to build mass.
Don't forget you can ride a bike, and participate in a lot of sports that will give you increased tone, and muscle mass, without worrying about lifting weights.
Good luck.

I doubt that it will stunt anything, I am not a personal trainer or anything but I would recommend, lots of running, pushups, situps, cardio type workouts, and biking to keep trim.. and if you want to start toning your body... stay with light weights with a lot of reps... I myself am working on losing weight and gaining muscle and also tone.
I myself do all the above things mentioned but I vary on heavy/less reps and light/more reps...
If you are going to a gym, most have one free training with a personal trainer..

Long term weight lifting may do that, so I would recommend that you keep your workouts more in the realm of cardio work.

i'm guessing you have in simple terms entered extreme college - i'm a 20 twelve months previous lady and you're taller than me. maximum females are slightly taller than adult men for the duration of their early young human beings - and then suddenly the adult men initiate getting taller. do no longer problem approximately it. And after all - 5'7" is exceedingly person-friendly top. :)
