I'm thinking of getting a new car, nothing too big or too small any suggestions?

I would like to put a car seat in the back for the grand children, I currently drive an MX-5

I was going to suggest an MX-5, went to test drive one a couple of weeks ago, excellent drive. They are bringing out a new hard top later in the year, i think i'll be trading in!!
VW Golf is an excellent car, can't recommend it enough.

We just bought a Kia Spectra 5, and we love it! It's big enough that we don't feel like we're laying down when we sit in it, there's room in the back seat for both me and our 90 pound dog, and the seats fold down to an area 6 feet across diagonally (my husband makes model rockets, so he had to make sure they fit). It's got almost everything standard, even a CD player, except ABS braking and a sunroof, which are optional, but very affordable. It has a 10 year warranty on the engine and transmission, and a five year bumper to bumper warranty that you can upgrade to 10 years. It's nice to have a car we can count on.

Someone has suggested the Toyota Camry - I've had three of them over the years and I'm here to tell you that it can't be beaten. Only snags are (a) it's bigger than you seem to want and(b) if you're in UK you won't get a new one, which is why I now have an Avensis. Truly legendary reliability and build quality and, again if you're in UK, you'd be buying British (Derby). Interesting that almost all your answers recommend Far East manufacturers - almost no German, no French, no Italian or Spanish, no British (except Avensis) and no serious American, even though Dodge have now joined the UK market. Go for Toyota is my advice.

The Honda Accord LX is a nice car. It is a medium size car and you can get a 4-door so you can put the car seat in the back. It has enough space. It is pretty cool. They are speedy too. They are not very expensive either.

Hi Fletch...I quite like the new Golf & ladies always look hot in them......seats in the back for the kids & diesel one's are espicially good & great MPG 40+....practicially maintenance free as they never give any trouble...go on you know you deserve it..and you know you like looking good.. : )

Yaris? Nah, too small. I personally like the Hyundai Tiburon.

I strongly suggest a Nissan Altima. I have a 2005 one and it rides SO smoothly and so comfortably, and they're safe and very roomy. I love it. I've spoken to several different people that have Altimas, all which love them, and my mechanic said they're very reliable cars as well.

ford focus, not to big/small, plenty of space for a child seat or two, good choice of engines and trim, outhandles most other cars including your mx5
