Take your cat to the vet as soon as possible. Diarrhea in kittens can be VERY serious, as they quickly dehydrate. Although many people are suggesting worms, you will not know until you take him to a vet, as the only worm that shows itself is a tapeworm, which is uncommon for a kitten to have unless it is severely infested with fleas. Regardless, severe diarrhea is a problem that needs IMMEDIATE veterinary attention, and no answer online is going to cure this potentially life-threatening ailment.

Hard to know- depends on his age and diet. If you are giving it any type of milk other than kitten formula- STOP! When I was too young to know better I gave powdered milk to a kitten, and it had the squirts for days. Diarrhea is serious in babies, they dehydrate very quickly. If you do not think it is diet related and you can fix it quickly, then it could be a virus and he needs to see the vet. Good luck! (oh! And no canned cat food either!)

The kitten should not have be having any cows milk, if this is the case, stop it immediately. And it will certainly end up hopelessly dehydrated, and die, if this diarrhea continues. This kitten should be taken to a vet immediately.

it could be very serious, do all the kittens have the runs? my kitten had that & after several vet visits turned out he had FIP..no cure , he was 4 months old when we finaly figured out it was & started trying to treat him...he died at 8 months old. Your cousin should have him checked , not just pass it off to someone else , the kitty coulkd infect other cats if it is serious!

I think you should take it to your vet as soon as possible. My cat also had a very bad diarhea and it usually gets very dehydrated if it doesn't drink enough to compensate for the loss of water. You can check for dehydration by pulling at the skin at the back of the head.If the skin doesn;t bounce back immediately then it is dehydrated and might need to be put on drip.

If your cousin won't take it to the vet call the humane society. That is animal abuse and neglect. That kitten needs medical attention right away.

Your poor kitty probably has worms. All kittens are born with parasites and likely this is the situation you are dealing with. Just take him to the vet and they will give you the meds they need to "deworm" him. They will probably need a stool sample, as gross as this sounds, to diagnose that there is definitely some parasitic action happening. Once they all pass, your kitty will be just fine.

Call your vet. How old is your kitten? If he is old enough to eat; it could be the food.

All kittens and puppies are born with worms, they get them from their mothers milk, and you can go to the pet store and get capsules to put in the food. Read the label and follow the directions.
