I am having my friend plan my baby shower ( she wants to) I live in Jacksonville, Fl and he in Orlando. I am from Orlando and so I will be having one down there. She went ahead without me knowing and bought my invitations and thank you cards. I haven't seen them yet and I thought it was nice of her to do that. I would kind of liked to see them though but no biggie. Anyways she is gonna be sending out the invitations and when she came to vist and was making the list I realized how bad her handwriting is, I don't want my invitations to look sloppy. What can I say or do to still be polite about it?

If it's not too late to get your hands on the invitations that she'd bought, you should ask her for them. Tell her that you want to write them yourself because you would like to write little personal notes to each person invited.

I don't think you should worry about it. This is her gift to you and if you try to tell her how to do it, or insult her handwriting (no matter how politely you say it, it will probably hurt) you could end up with her canceling the shower or worse, losing a friend.

Sit back and enjoy that someone is doing this for you, by the time you have your baby the shower will seem like a million years ago and it won't matter so much to you.

I wouldn't say anything, bad hand-writing isn't worth risking your friendship. Everyone one that attends will know that she planned it for you, so don't worry so much. A baby shower's invitations are not required to be perfect such as a wedding shower. I know the thought that comes to mind when seeing her writing but let it go, she is trying to help.

i would say something to her, but i would make it like a joke and she probably would get the hint. try not to be to harsh. I'm sure she is aware that she writes messy but she may not know that this bothers you. Keep it light and don't dwell on it I'm sure if she doesn't get the hint the other guest won't mind.
