The following reference material (from Google) requires a very intellectual and philosophical mind to digest and understand, but by all means read and ponder.
Google “Brains in a vat” for the latest reference material.
It basically suggests and refutes that we (you or anyone) are just brains in a vat connected to a super-computer because we are able to ask the question are we just brains in a vat. Unfortunately the theory is flawed because it assumes we are dealing with human brains in a vat, but that may not be the case.
It is possible that everything we think, feel, touch, hear, believe, sense, taste, smell, you name it is in fact virtual, and everything science or religion puts forward is virtual. It is possible that all the troubles in the world are virtual. It is possible that the universe is virtual, and therefore the intelligence in a vat will never know the answers to anything in our world or universe. It is possible that we are some form of intelligence in a vat, and therefore we are virtual and don't exist in the form or manner that we believe we do. It is possible that we may not even be human.
Should the above state (brains in a vat) truly exist then you would be unable to prove to anyone through any medium that you exist.
So in answer to your question, life in a true sense is whatever you wish to imagine it is.

We have no control over our existance. So you're not going to have one when your done. You're here on this earth because its a never ending life cycle. While your in this life cycle weve learned to be productive and have virtue. We don't know any better but to do what we can do to survive. Man kind is a survivor. Why does everything have to have a beginning and an end.
Try setting a marble on top of a hill. Where will it go?? That's kind of how were targeted in this world.

Life is what you make of it. My version is that in between birth and death I am here to help others. I think that everyone has a purpose and it is up to the individual to figure it out.
I think that you can't define a true sense of life because it is based on each individual.

I define life as coming from the spirit of a person. It is that extra little shining light that some have and others lack...It is the breath of fresh air that you feel when some are around; those who lack it are more like a drowner....
I think of the soul in terms of human trainable behaviors.... like compassion, jealousy, kindness, hatred, etc.

I used to think life consisted of breathing, eating, excreting and sex. I am now convinced that the physical body is only a very small portion of the total being.

concious thought and the ablity to appreciate your time here on earth. If we have souls they liveon after death which wouldn't be life. Life is here on earth, you won't get it anywhere else.

Life, to the extent of my knowledge, is where an object is animate and can interact with its surroundings and attempt to alter it.

To experiece everything there is to experience. To feel the pain and joy, to gain and to lose. To find your reason for being alive. You're not here just because you're here. You're here for a reason find it and complete it.
