Pot comes from the one of the most useful, most widely and historically cultivated plants in the history of mankind. There is historical evidence to attest to this all over the globe. According to some interpretations there is even evidence in Genesis that God himself intended for hemp to be utilized by mankind. In modern times there have been numerous studies citing the medicinal properties of pot and dispelling myths of its so-called "harmful" effects some even performed by the United States government itself. It has been proven that pot is not addictive and can be used to treat many debilitating conditions from glaucoma to easing the discomfort caused by chemotherapy. For my own part I think that pot should be legalized and regulated not just for medicinal and recreational use but also for all the practical applications it has from its ability to be planted in fallow fields as part of a crop rotation which replenishes nutrients in soil as well as its superior paper pulp, its seed oil which can be used in place of petroleum oil, and its cellulose which can be manufactured into bio-degradable plastic, as well as a myriad other uses. Unfortunately there is a cabal of oil companies, chemical compainies (Dow), timber companies, and drug companies, and a government in place to protect these interests that want to keep people afraid of the 'devil's weed' so that none of these truths will ever be accepted by the general public. They love the fact that there are tons of smelly hippies who just want to stay high and dirty so that they will remain poster children for the continued criminalization not just of pot but of hemp in general.

I’m not sure where your question went. If you’re asking what are my thoughts concerning the legality of marijuana or if it’s a good pastime. I can say that as a police officer I think it should be legalized. There are others I work with that feel the same way. The reason I think that way is because it’s a crime that will never be solved and victimless as well. If the United States government would just legalize marijuana they could then regulate it. Control who, what age I’m referring to, can get it. If it was made legal it would put a stop to so many criminals that smuggle it. It’s a cash cow for criminals. In stead of criminals making all the money the government would save a great deal of money trying to stop it and make a great deal of money from the taxes they would get from the sales of it.
I’ve had to deal with many people ’under the influence’ and arrest many of them. I would much rather be arresting a person under the influence of cannabis than one that is under the influence of alcohol. I’ve never been to a domestic violence where the parties were high on pot, but I can’t remember the last one I went to where one or both weren’t drunk on booze. Understand, I drink and do not smoke pot. I try and teach my children that drinking too much causes problems for themselves and the people around them. If marijuana was legal… I would advise them the same.
As far as a gateway drug, what about alcohol and nicotine? As long as society, any society, feels something is wrong, it’s my opinion that people should try and govern the actions within that society, but the ruling party should be able to not only actuate why there are such rules, but be able to adapt and change when it is to the benefit that community.
If your question was on the lines of ‘is it cool?’ or something to that effect, I can think of so many other things I would rather do.

I don't think it's good or bad either way.
Obviously smoking anything produces carcinogens, which causes cancer, could be less or more dangerous then cigs, I don't know the answer to that. I do think that you shouldn't drive after smoking the reefski, sort of has the same slowing effect as alcohol - makes driving tough. Alcohol makes people more violent then pot, and affects more people. I never heard of anyone smoking pot until the died, maybe ate too much or fell asleep - but who knows?
It grows naturally in the wild, Mr. God put it here, can't be that bad!
Of course I've never smoked that stuff anyway.

Do your own research and form your own opinion. I personally have no problem with it . Pot smoking is far less likely to cause the stupid behavior that alcohol or other drugs do. It also has many medical uses that in my opinion should be put to use since it would be far cheaper and most likely better on the body than the synthetic chemicals used now.

Marijuana factors a lot less themes than alcohol. i'm not advocating for use, yet between the important motives that it is not legalized is that the authorities has no answer to tax it. Please look up prohibition, and why it did not paintings. Heroin, Cocaine and so on... were used for a lengthy time period, ideal in the most suitable one hundred years has criminal consequences been connected to utilization. PBS does a best profile on how medicines grew to develop into unlawful. See if that you ought to pull this up on you tube. Alcohol and nicotine reason more beneficial deaths than weed. Legalization ought to manage a number of the topics with regards to Marijuana immediately

"pot" as in marijuana?
Or are you asking some garden variety question?
If it about marijuana (a.k.a., pot, weed, ganja, mary jane and more than one hundred other nicknames), what do you want me to justify?
Okay - I'll take a stab at what you might be asking: "am I for or against the use of marijuana, and why?"
Personally, I don't smoke it (I did, back in college) and I don't advocate the smoking of marijuana...any smoking is unhealthy.
I do feel strongly that our government should legalize it, regulate it and place a high (no pun intended) tax on it.
This would curb crime and bring in revenue.
I feel VERY STRONGLY in favor about the use of marijuana for medical purposes (as approved by a licensed D.O. or M.D.).
Anything (repeat: ANYTHING) that helps people who suffer from documented illness and pain should be accessible.
We (thankfully) are not suffering from who-knows-what types of pain, and so where do we have the right to deny pain relief to those who are in pain?
Okay...rational enough for you?
Now, pass me that doobie!

POT HAS BEEN AT PART OF MY LIFE SINCE I WAS THIRTEEN, I HAVE STOPPED USING POT NOW. AND I'VE STOPPED IN THE PAST, EACH TIME I HAVE NIGHTMARES FOR MONTHS. BUT I FEEL A LOT CLEARER HEADED. AND ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISH THINGS, INSTEAD OF JUST GETTING HIGH AND DAY DREAMING ABOUT THEM. I HAVE TO BE HONEST, I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED POT. I WAS MORE CREATIVE WHEN I SMOKED,AND I USED TO GET SICK AT MY STOMACH A LOT. ONE JOINT AND THAT WENT AWAY! BUT I AM GOING TO TRY TO LIVE LIFE WITH OUT IT FOR A CHANGE.I HAVE BEEN SMOKING FOR 20 YEARS, I THINK IT IS TIME.

The whole question of Marijuana is silly. There are hundreds of studies that you can choose to prove either side of the debate, What difference to me what you smoke or don't smoke for fun? Am I your daddy?

heres how i rationalize it(by the way, i dont even do druhs anymore)....alcohol is legal....how often do you hear about drunk driving accidents, or the guy that comes home drunk and beats the **** out of his wife....now if he had only gone out and smoked a joint, what is the worst he could do?...eat her dinner?not only that but there is documented medical evidence that it helps with aids, cancer, glaucoma, etc, patients
