They were pasteurized, but not sterilized. Pasteurization will remove any little monsters, but as soon as you open the cap, or break the seal on the juice, air gets in. Juice has a high sugar level which means germs in the air, or yeast in the air, will want to call your juice home. I wouldn't leave a juice at room temperature for more than a day. It depends on the temperature and humidity. If your juice gets cloudy, or tastes "off" then throw it away.

The juices may be pasturized, but there is still baceteria in the juice, the container and the air in the container. These bacteria will spoil the juice, given the time. Refrigeration slows down this process.

You have to keep juices cold, if you didn't the sugars in them will break down and sour. You don't want to drink sour juices, it will make a person quite sick. Keep your juices in the refrigerator.

because after opening the juice you let germs in and if its not in the fridge then these germs will multiply causing the juice to go bad
