Why dont you and all your atheist and agnostic friends sell your computers, stereos, car audio and everything you bought from best buy and open a soup kitchen?
What atheist or Agnostic organizations open soup kitchens, hospitals, orphanages, shelters, and foreign missions? It is done by Christian hands. Christians care more about the world than the world does! Obviously Im not a big fan of atheism but dont you see how your question oozes with hypocrisy?
In any event, Heaven is going be a HUGE MEGACHURCH. And its never too late for you to get in on it!
RE: When you insult, you have admitted you lost and have nothing to defeat my argument with so you have to attack the person instead.
My point is rather simple, Christians do more to help the world than atheists. So you can talk about all the laser light shows you want and how wasteful you think the church is, talk all you want how you dont have any responsibility to your fellow man, but you come off looking like a huge hypocrite being critical of people for doing the work you yourself are not willing to lift a finger to do. (reach the lost)

I actually prefer the mega churches, because there is usually more resources there, and they are involved in a variety of outreach programs as well.
Also, some believe that the bigger the church, the more blessings God has given them, which is another point of view. Some churches are really big too out of necessity due to large congregations, etc. However, when these big congregations take a collection every sunday, it's bigger than in a small church, and there's more money, and if it's a big congregation, it takes a lot to accomodate. Also, some big churches are in metropolitan areas that are more wealthy, such as DC, etc.

Yes, and some of these places are like malls! I do believe there was a story in that Bible they claim to follow, about Jesus getting angry because of commercialism in a place of worship. Not only that, but it becomes very cultic and life-dominating--all your friends are there, you go to the activities, you vote the way the pastor tells you to, etc. It's not intended to be a once or twice a week destination, you know? It's more of a stronghold of power. It's also a convenient one-stop shop for Republican candidates looking for voters.

They don't scare me but they lose the purpose of why they attend church...to praise God & fellowship with others. They want to be bigger & better than others. I'd rather attend a small church without all the frills & instruments...where people are true to their beliefs.

I would agree with the fact that it seems a hypocritical, but do I fear them?, no. I think that it's probablly not a church with good morals if they spend a lot of money.
