We have known each other for a really long time and we hang out a lot. We talk on the phone and we flirt and basiclly we are the best of friends. We dance everytime at our school dances and lots of other stuff. Then her friend told me that she liked me and i didnt know if i should trust her because she was a rumor starting girl and so i have to find out for myself without being too obvious. And im really thinking about asking her out but im SUPER shy about dates and i don't know what to do, say, or where to go. And i need to find out ASAP

You know, from your description of what has happened between you so far, I would say yes she does, otherwise she wouldn't dance with you at the school dance. Girls generally don't flirt with guys they don't like. If you are chatting on the phone all the time, I suspect she really does like you.

Instead of saying it's a date, just ask her if she would like to go to a movie with you and find one she might like ahead of time. A chick flick. Get to the theater (the multiplex ones with several movies on at once) and ask if she wants to see the chick-flick (but for golly goshes DON'T call it that!). Then when you go to the cashier and pay for the both of you and just say calmly, "My treat." She will get the message.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Your only 13 for pete's sake!
Be a kid and don't worry about it.
You like her, she likes you...it's ok.
Your so shy about dating because you ARE TOO YOUNG TO BE DATING.
Stay friends and find something to do and think about besides your girl.
Go out for football or something.

dont ask her out upfront, it could make things akward detween you two
ask someone who is her friend to ask her "i heard a rumor that you liked (your name here). is it true?" then, if she does, ask her out.

Just ask her straight out, it seems you're close enough to do that.
