I too have been at times a little too "Long Winded"...but recently I have realised "Long Winded" really stiffles a lot of great feedback for our questions. I just don't want to read such 'dribble' no matter how true or pertinent it may be. I like answers from the heart and mind of you or from your experience. I would like to see your answer then a Maximum of three sources for your answer. I have also noticed very little "Voting" on the questions that have these long winded reply's. This can make the voting terribly one sided because most people will just vote for their own answer period.

The copy and paste thing annoys me. I have only done it twice. I leave a short message and post a few links I feel may better answer their question.
I wouldn't mind a character limit on these boards.

If it's clearly boring or all copied-and-pasted, you can always hit "thumbs down," and that minimizes it. I've found that I can cut a long thread in half doing that. But sometimes those long answers contain good stuff, and our definitions of good stuff and our tolerances for length vary widely. No, I don't think we should have limits, as long as we can affect our own view.
By the way, I hardly ever let my own questions go to "voting", ever, because I don't want something insulting to be the response that gets the ten points. I feel I owe the ones who've put thought and respect into it a little more than that.

that's a touch good question searching for an simple answer. even as thinking how you'll answer the form of query we ought to guage each and each of the data. Is the first interest what percentage factors one ought to get in yahoo solutions or ought to we evaluate the actual aspect that the guy asking this question is making an attempt to get at. Now if the poser of this question is amazingly in touch in lengthy winded solutions then he/she will have the capacity to be nonetheless examining this notwithstanding if he/she isn't then they received't evaluate this because the ideal answer so i must be dropping my time. In perception that they in basic terms must be examining on and make this the ideal answer i'm wearing on. not for too lengthy although because i imagine that solutions that are lengthy winded very frequently do not get study . when you're nonetheless examining this then please aspect out the very reality by using giving me a thumbs up which will also ascertain to the poser of this question that lengthy winded solutions do get study at times. by using the way i do not problem examining lengthy winded solutions.

most all of the " honest" questions... and there are a few of them even on this forum... require more space than should be taken here... that is why I offer to answer via email if any have honest questions concerning The Christian Faith... That is a subject that can not be adiquatly covered in this format.
I allso offer my web site that is about some of the God stuff... That way the honest seekers can find further info and the rest do not have to be "offended" by honest Christian answers.
as to the voting... I do vote once in a while when I see a gross vulgarity... but the game of points and votes is not my thing.

Sounds like pure laziness to me. If you don't like a long answer, have a little kid teach you how to scroll past it.
The only person who needs to read a long answer is Asker. If the question is important, long answers may be appreciated.
I think a lot of you have forgotten the purpose of the URL, which is to get answers to questions, not vote; not rack up lots of points.
Those of you who like sources more than personal knowledge need to learn to use a search engine.
Frankly, there is nothing about making a web page which makes anything on it any more useful than personal knowledge of an individual who knows something.

I think that a lot of long answers are excellent.
The thing that irks me is the long-winded NON-answer.
For example, a LOT of christians will respond to my questions with 2-3 whole chapters of the bible, which don't even apply to the question.
I LIKE it when someone writes a long answer which is well thought out.
I CAN'T STAND when someone cuts & pastes ******** in an attempt to cyber-filibuster.

I agree, although some questions take a long time to answer. I also get annoyed when people answer a question with just a scripture reference and not an explanation of it. Especially if it's totally irrelevant, and accusing me of being a heathen. Ugh.

I don't like rules.
Never have.
I don't like people who want alot of rules.
Never have.
I like liberty.
Always have.
By the way, this isn't a forum, it's Yahoo Answers. It's different. It's designed to get a consensus on what is the best answer to a particular question.
Unfortunately, there's alot of airheads that don't appreciate the intended purpose of this site, and they clutter it up with verbal litter.
Luckily, there's enough serious minded people here that the "best answer" is usually the one that's well thought out and sufficiently documented.
So the site works somewhat as intended.
Have I been long-winded enough, or shall I continue . . . ?

Imagine what will happen (or happend) if we decide for example to limit "Bibble". If you fall on your weakness not to read full answers then believe me I am not impressed why God give us 10 laws written like for a child not like for adult inteligent human. I dont want to be offencive but I want to show You the truth that can make you hurted and feel resentfull. Become better than you are and think it trough. Maybe we will meet together one day and then You will teach me. Mrok (Gloom)
Think for example of law not to kill - you know it is imposible to prevent it in all circumstances. Law is one but level of sin, punishment and Gods permission seems to be a wide veriety.
