I was thinking about trying it, it's not like the mixture is harmful and I would like to finally loose weight quickly after having my daughter. What were your experiences during the diet and afterwards? Suggestions? Commnets?

I have done it and liked it. You have to use a certain grade of pure maple syrup, distilled water, pure lemon juice squeezed from a lemon and cayan pepper powder. The idea is to drink this without eating ANY food at all for like 2 weeks, but some pure chicken broth. There is some headache pain involved, but that is the toxins being released from your body. It is supposed to cleanse all the crap out of your body to help your metabolism. I heard of some people doing it for a month.

I don't know what the "Maple Syrup Diet" is, but I will tell you this - the only way to lose weight and get into shape is with regular exercise and a good diet.

Jogging every morning is a great habbit to get into, and you can purchase free weights sets for very cheap at your local wal-mart.

Watch your diet, do some research online to find out what kind of foods are good for you. Sometimes supplements are a good thing to invest in - it all depends on your body type. Do your research.

Fad diets don't generally work, and even if they do work - no diet works the same for everyone. Everyone's body is DIFFERENT. You need to find a healthy diet that works for YOUR body.

What will they come up with next??

Why don't you just try drinking nothing but slim fast for two weeks. It is less complicated, probably tastes better and will have the same result (i.e. you will lose a ton of weight and at least half of it will come back when you start eating solids again.) The key to get to and maintain a healthy weight is learning how to make healthy food choices and exercising regularly.

While I won't be drinking gallons of maple syrup.
I might try the frying my veggies in it thing. Thanks for the info. and the points.

I wouldn't reccomend going on the diet, BUT use some of the helpful tips from the diet! A great way to reduce a lot of the fat in your diet is to replace all oils with Maple Syrup! You can actually fry things with maple syrup! It reduces the fat content drastically. Try out stir frying some veggies in it, it tastes great!

I did it. You will lose weight, but half of it will return after you begin eating solids, which is normal and also stated in the original diet information. It's discouraging, though, to lose the weight, and see it come back on, after only drinking the concoction for weeks. It is nutritionally sound, however. It's a good way to detox, though.

I read about it and it is stupidly expensive, if you want to lose weight quickly, then try the cabbage soup diet, its really cheap, just look for it in a search engine, my husband did it and lost almost a stone in a week!
