I'm sure you'll get some weird religious answers to your question, but to get a feel for religious humans having the answers to anything sensible about life in our universe, then consider this.
Imagine you’ve just been launched into space, you look back and watch the Earth through a rush of clouds turn into a beautiful blue green and white coloured ball. Seems so peaceful, how could such an inspiring serene picture be home to so many violent selfish greedy human residents.
The hours pass and Earth turns into an ever reducing multi-coloured little marble, and all around is darkness pitted with twinkling white stars. You strain your eyes and watch Earth disappear into a barely visible flicker of light, and still all around is just darkness pitted with twinkling stars.
You fall asleep and when you awaken everything looks the same. Darkness scattered with distant stars. You’re lost, you have no idea where Earth is, up down, left right, Earth has gone for good. Everything is just darkness and stars in every direction you look.
Now ask yourself, do you really believe that violent life on some planet that you’ve no idea where it is, has the answer to everything around you.
If you need a connection to satisfy your curiosity, then just assume all life exists in the universe, and that's the connection.

To become someone, is to become a child first of your parent, your parent is connected to their parents and so forth and so on, the food you eat has life before and it was connected to another food chains, your feet has to be connected to the ground to have something to walk on even if you wear your shoes or walk on floor of the tallest builidng, the building is connected to the ground. Say you are on the ship connected to the waters that rest on the ocean floor which is earth. Even if your are on board a flying airplane you are connected to the air and the air also touches the earth and everything connected to the earth.
There is a saying "if you touch the leaf of a tree, it is heard through the entire universe as its smallest sound is carried by the wind. Ever read the possibility of us seeing the stars shining light that burst a million years ago? Our senses are all built to experience the connection to all life. Not one minutest thing really does stand alone. Our very survival in life has always something to do with our connections to things around us.

Life, in and of itself, is interconnected. You can't eat if you don't grow crops or raise animals. Life feeds on life. That is the physical connection. The spiritual, emotional, and psychological connection was brilliantly described by Carl Jung as the "collective unconscious." In a very large way, all human beings are connected with that connection filtering out into all life around us.

It means that if you were driving along and ran over a fox that was chasing a rabbit, then the rabbit can go back to feed its young, but the fox can't go back, so its young might die. But that would mean that there would be more rabbits and less foxes in the area next year, and with more rabbits avalible a fox will be able to have a bigger family and so make up for the one you ran over in the first place! Get it?

It means that God is not in the universe She is the universe.
She created the universe from the only thing that She had available, Herself.
You and the most distant star from you in the universe both exist within the idea of God.
This is a difficult concept for most people to comprehend because they have been taught nonsense about God. Like the idea that God lives far away on a cloud called heaven. God is not a raindrop. Raindrops live in clouds Not God. This is foolishness.
Jesus told us that the kingdom of God is within us. This is true because each and every one of us exist as a part of God. We live and move within our loving source. There is no moment or possibility that we can ever be apart from her.
Forget the silly stories that you have been told about a distant God that lives in the clouds. Look around you. Everything that you see is God.
Love and blessings.

Some believe that everything is made of the same basic "stuff"...if that is so, then everything would be connected by virtue of that common ingredient...
The Lakotah indians have a saying that is "mi taku oyasin" which means 'we are all related' (all living things, not just people)

I can explain it from a sexual standpoint.
The bible said that when a man and a women get together
they are one, they are connected.
That is the reason why we should not have sex before marriage. think of all the people that you are connected with and that you bring into your marriage.
bringing in to the marriage by comparing all the ex's with your spouse. you may not do it intentionally but you do it.
hope I could help.
God bless

Everything needs something to eat, drink and breath. Without plants we would have no oxygen, destroy the water supply we would have nothing to drink, exterminate enough species we would have nothing to eat. The world is an inter-connected Eco-system, destroy any part of it, the rest goes down with it. We do not own the Earth, we are part of it, destroy the Earth, we destroy ourselves.
