hahaha mutterhals, your first born eh, I better make this good.
The answer is no, people are not inherently good OR evil. These words are used to describe one aspect of the polarity of humanity.
Every person has the capacity to exemplify or personify these traits. It is a matter of choice and these choices can be effected by life experience as well as (I assume) chemical imbalances.

No,I think once you hit a certain age you know right from wrong. People can be evil or good. You have to choose which one you want to be. You are in control of your life and the direction you need to go. I am a christian women. I did some bad things in my life but Jesus Christ gave his life willingly for us so we can be forgiven. God loves you no matter what you do.

The Bible says their is no one that is good, no not even one, except God Himself (don't take my word for it, look it up for yourself). Because sin entered in through the first man that God created, sin entered into each one of us. That's why Christ died, so that we might receive him and be forgiven of our sin.
If you'll take notice, you don't have to teach a child to be selfish or to bite or be mean. But you do have to teach them to be good. Just as Jesus lived the Perfect example of how we are to live.

I don't think so, I feel that when children are born and when they are old enough to understand and watch thier parents, they can pick things up from them, like the way they treat other people or if thier parents curse, they can pick up fowl language.

i think your upbringing has a lot to do with it but maybe some people are born more inclined one way or the other! like sociopaths. but good and evil are defined by our society so in some parts of the world good people are probably considered evil and vice versa so maybe we are born with our own sense of whats right and which ever society we are brought up in2 defines whether we are good or evil!
that's just my thoughts on it! hope you like!

All people are born with both traits equally, although they don't begin to surface until the person grows up a little.

Yes e.g. someone who respects no one are probably mostly evil but present themselves to be good. But saying that I am sure they still have the goodness in them that would hopefully shine through....eventually...
Another example, those who can't use there brains are probably good cos they are brainless and so remain good all their lives.

think about it...
we all suffer from selfishness, pride, greed, lust...
do you know many folks who suffer from humility, abundant giving, self-control...
i think we're all born with a nature that bends towards the evil. if we're lucky, someone teaches us how to behave and do good.
evil is the corruption of the good that once was.
