I assume your TV has an audio and a video jack only. All DVD players I have seen have video, audio left and audio right - three. Go to www.radioshack.com. They will have a 3 RCA to 2 RCA cord adapter. The sound will be in mono, but you will get both channels, not just one. I had to get one there too.
I'm still not sure what the red, green and blue cord hookup is all about.
Good luck.

I assume you already have something connected in those jacks or you wouldn't be asking.
You need to connect the DVD into the device that is connected to the TV set, and change the input channel of that device when you need to use the DVD.

Go to an electronics supply store that may also sell DVD, and they will sell you exactly what you need. There are several ways of doing what you need and best to buy the correctly thing the first time. Expect you could pay 10-20 dollars.
