I think online dating is just like any other dating, it has it's pros and cons. I've been doing it for a while now as I'm in job in which I don't have the opportunity to meet single men and locally there isn't anyone that I want to meet as I would like someone more intellectual. I have met some really nice guys online, and honestly a few that were real jerks...but I think that would be same in life.
I've used different sites but found that match.com is good and is Yahoo! site. But just join one, because you'll find that most sites have people posted on a few. If you are really serious, there are more indepth sites, such as eHarmony.com. And for those free sites, you don't get a good sampling of men, so I'd stay away from them. If they are serious, then they are willing to pay for service and that means alot.
I will tell you that at the moment I've met a really lovely guy, geniune and honest and I'm quite happy for going online.
Good luck to you!

Well, I paid to enter meetic, I have been fun during a week, and today the really beautiful girl I liked, at last wrote to me, I feel happy today.
I don´t know what Will happen tomorrow, but it was not too expensive for a few of fun.
In the other hand, I had a relationship by letter many years ago and we married and had a wonderful son, after nine years we divorced, but it was a wonderful experience i would never avoid to have, distance has nothing to be with love or passion, you just have to jump and enjoy.

It is a waste of time and a waste of money. Everyone will start to seem perfect once you start online. It's a lie. And a waste of time and money/

I have to agree with most of your exsisting answers...yahoo 360 and myspace are free and you can create a profile with an focus on dating or looking to date! It's honestly just fun to meet people...dating or otherwise. I was scared at first myself. I haven't met anyone special, but alot of interesting people to cure boredom. But good luck....try both of the free ones though

yahoo personals is great, I met my hubby on there. People say your a looser or what-ever if you have to find a date online....They need to grow up and see the real world. Everyday life is tough so online dating just helps a bit.

Keep it off for as long as possible. If you think you really, really need to. You can do it though. Its a waste of money, it just depends on how you think of it. Good luck.

I use it. I prefer it. I am not a bar scene kind of person. So this is a way to see women that are seeking a potential relationship. It allows me to pick and choose. I get to decided who I want to contact and who I do not. Then when you do contact, you can let them know as much or little as you want.
