yes, however, if your sleeping in excess, its usually a sign of something physically wrong in the body...so if your sleeping more your body is telling you something. you need the rest.
if its bothersome however, (cant keep a job, cant get out of bed ect) i'd see a doctor.

and please, dont' let them tell you it's as simple as depression....depression (unless you've had recent loss or head trauma) is brought on by many things and does not occur by itself. it's a symptom of something!

Yes, it can make you gain weight and sometimes is a sign of depression. There is also a disease when a person sleeps for weeks like hybernating.
