How about a cat, a hamster, a parakeet or a parrot? Perhaps a monkey or a dolphin? A lion? A shark? What makes the animals you wouldn't eat any more important and worthy of life than the ones you would?

The question I'd want you to answer is what valid justification is there to consider some animals food and therefore consider their lives less important than our appetite when we don't do that to other animals such as dogs and cats, for example? Shouldn't it be a moral and ethical issue rather than cultural?

And by the way, if you're going to answer stuff like "God made animals for us to eat", don't bother because to me that's the biggest pile of you-know-what you can say. I don't buy that argument and will not be able to avoid considering you stupid if you use it.

I would eat any animal on Earth that is not poisonous if I was starving. However with such an abundance of food in America I would think that a vegetarian diet is the right way to go.

Yes, if I was starving. But it is only a cultural thing. In America we believe dogs, cats, etc. are pets, not food for our table. But if I was raised in another country maybe I would believe differently about it. Pretty much it is a matter of culture. Don't sweat it! God put it all here for us, not the other way around!

What Defiles a Person
Matt. 15:10--20
"And he called the people to him and said to them, "Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person." Then the disciples came and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?" He answered, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up. Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit." But Peter said to him, "Explain the parable to us." And he said, "Are you also still without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone."

I guess it depends on where you were raised, different cultures and countries might think we are crazy to have dogs as pets and treat them like humans, while they look at them as meals. I sure lots of cultures would eat a lion, but lions are not part of my everyday life, so it would be weird.
I wouldn't eat anything on your list, but I would never say Never.. if I was starving & there was no other food on the planet. I might consider eating a parrot or two ..

Meat is meat. I would avoid rats and cockroaches and things like that mostly because of where they like to hang out (and probably cats too for the same reason). But if I found a place that served rat and kept them away from trash and such I would probably be willing to try it anyway. Personally I like the taste of ants (especially the big red ones). But I would eat a dog (as long as I didn't see it beforehand, then it makes it a bit too real for me).

I won't eat anything I concider "cute" that includes lamb and deer. I also won't eat anything that still looks like it did before it was cooked, such as fish with the head still on.

Probably unknowingly in China, hell I don't know. Don't think I'd be eating beef in India, as sacred as the cow is to them. You'll eat just about anything if you're starving enough.

Nothing. It depends on availability. If I could find no food anywhere
and there was a cat available. See ya later kitty.
