Well, I'm a 15 year old son...I fall asleep usually 11:30-12...I'm tired in the morning but I enjoy staying up late, I always have. 11 or 11:30 is a good lights out time, I just watch some TV in my room for 10 minutes before I sleep. I'm a 4.0, it hasn't affected my grades obviously. Your call..

I would say give him a curfew of like 10:00 on schoolnights, and you can't really give someone in high school a bed-time per say. If he loses sleep, he'll know better the next day to go to bed earlier. I am 22 now, and I know when I was 15 i was usually asleep by 11-midnightish, and would have to be up for school at 6:00 AM.

When my son was 15, I allowed him to set his own bedtime. That was the same time I stopped waking him up in the morning.

The first week, he completely abused it and woke up late for school all bewildered because I hadn't called him. He quickly learned to go to bed at a reasonable time so he would stop waking up late. At 19, he's the most personally responsible person I know :)

Normally 9:30-10pm.
It all depends on the intellect of your son. Is he doing well in school? Does he struggle getting up in the morning or is he an early riser? Is he active in sport?

All these are to take in consideration, as to the required sleep needed in order to get through his daily activities in a positive manner, rather waking up and struggling throughout the morning or day - and perhaps fall sleep in class...etc.

I think that parents should have quiet time to reflect and relax all kids should at least be in their room by 10:30 on a school night they don't need to be sleep but they should be quiet.

10 or 11 pm. At 15 you can't force them to go to sleep but you can at least make sure they are in their rooms with lights out at a certain time. My parents just had us in our rooms at a certain time. It worked for us, we usually got bored and went to sleep anyways.
